You’ve decided to let go of your old life and move to a new city. You’re a big city person by nature and love to get out and see the sites. You may be looking for a club or bar, museum, something historical or maybe you’re into the more risque lifestyle. Now, the internet is a useful source of information but sometimes it leads to the overcrowding of spots because everyone has access to that information. You want to find the hidden gem. You are searching for spots off of the grid where you can have some fun, engage in the culture of your new city, and enjoy yourself without problems. This is when we must get back to talking with people. There are people within the city that have information and those who have no idea where anything is unless it’s in their daily path. Let’s explore the people who are the best sources of information in a new city.

Law Enforcement

Many police officers know the city like the back of their hands. Some hate answering questions though, and never trust them with anything that might seem remotely related to any criminal intent. For example if there is a club/bar you wish to attend and it’s known as a biker gang hangout or drug spot, don’t ask the cops. This may seem like common sense but if common sense were common it wouldn’t have common in front of it. Police can help you find cultural hot spots, hotels, and other logistical places also attendance appropriate locations with ease. Just be sure you know exactly what you are asking for and be sure to not be under the influence of anything while doing it.

Homeless People

The homeless within a city are very much in touch with the streets for obvious reasons. These are the people that can tell you shortcuts to various locations especially if you are on foot. Lets suppose you are looking for a specific location and Google Maps is not being responsive. This has happened to all of us. A homeless person will know exactly where this location is located. Be advised this may cost you a couple dollars but that’s a small price to pay for accurate information. Homeless will also know the best eating spots because they commonly search through those trash cans for meals. They will also be knowledgable in which places to avoid due to trouble, violence of some sort, or anything else that may impede you from having a less than enjoyable night.

Taxi Drivers

These men and women are the smoking, fast driving, encyclopedias to the city. If you’re into something risque or not known to all, these are the people to ask. Let’s face it there are many people out there into drugs, prostitutes, underground activities and other unnameable acts, and they should be afforded the right to engage in these activities at the safety of themselves and others. This is where taxi drivers come into play. If you’re a single guy and looking for an easy club score, get in a cab and ask the driver. He knows which places hold the highest amount of drunk men and women he’s taken home after a club for noticeable one night stands. He’s realized which raves he’s picked up people obviously on extacy or molly who are in no condition to drive. He’ll let you know if you’re going into a drug/gang infested area, and dressed as you are, should not got to. He’s got the hookup on high priced call girls if thats what you’re into or the best restaurant to impress a girl if that’s your fancy. If you want to have a good night and the internet has let you down to many times, get in a taxi and 9 out of 10 times they will guide you in the right direction.

Batman stole all his stuff from me. I could totally beat up Liam Neeson.
